Early 2015: Open to traffic on the entire Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway

Leaders of the Ministry of Transport have just requested the Vietnam Infrastructure Development and Financial Investment Corporation (VIDIFI) and contractors to speed up the construction progress of the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway project, striving to open the section passing through Hai Duong and Hai Phong to traffic by the end of 2014 and by the first quarter of 2015, the entire route will be open to traffic. At the same time, we request local authorities to be drastic in site clearance work to create conditions for the project to be implemented smoothly.

According to VIDIFI Corporation, Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway is 105 km long, invested in BOT form, designed with a speed of 120 km/h, 6 main lanes, 2 emergency stop lanes, toll collection in a closed form, 2 sides have a system of front roads connecting to local roads and 2 strips of green trees. To date, the project has implemented 10/11 main construction and installation packages. The remaining package (EX-1B) is in the contractor selection stage and is expected to begin construction in August 2013. In addition, preparations for the project connecting the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway with Ha Long city (Quang Ninh province) have also been completed.
