Commencement of EX package - 5 Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway project

On September 5, 2011, in Gia Loc town, Gia Loc District, Hai Duong Province, Vietnam Infrastructure Development and Financial Investment Corporation and the Joint Venture of China Guangdong Truong Dai Expressway Co., Ltd. and China Guangzhou International Economic and Technical Cooperation Company held a groundbreaking ceremony for package EX5 - Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway Project.

Attending the ceremony were representatives: Representative - Vietnam Road Administration; Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam; Representative - Consulate General of Vietnam in Guangzhou, China; Ms. Chieu Ngoc Phuong - Vice President of Guangdong Province of China; Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Trong Thua - Vice Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Hop - Vice Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Council; Representative A85 - General Department of Security II, Ministry of Public Security; Mr. Dao Van Chien - General Director - Vietnam Infrastructure Development and Financial Investment Corporation; Mr. Liu Cang Luong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Truong Dai Expressway Co., Ltd. - Guangzhou China; Mr. Liu Jianping - General Director of Guangzhou - China Economic and Technical Cooperation Company.

Representatives of Party Committees, People's Councils, People's Committees and departments, branches and unions of Hai Duong province, 02 Gia Loc Tu Ky districts, 13 communes and towns of 02 districts and people in the project area that the route passes through. Leaders and staff of the Head Office of the Vietnam Development Bank, Transaction Office I of the Vietnam Development Bank, Hai Duong Development Bank Branch, Development Assistance Magazine of the Vietnam Development Bank, Vietnam Bank for Foreign Trade, partners, domestic and international construction, supervision and investment companies, suppliers, television press agencies and leaders and heads of departments of the Investor and contractors.

The route passing through Hai Duong province has a length of 40 km, divided into 03 construction packages (EX4, EX5 and EX6). The EX-5 construction and installation package has a route from Km 48+000 to Km 63+300, passing through Gia Loc and Tu Ky districts in Hai Duong province. The road section has 6 bridges (of which 5 local road bridges cross the highway, 1 highway bridge crosses the river), 19 residential underpasses, 1 intersection at Road 38B and 1 main service station to serve the entire project.

Package EX-5 is the first package in Hai Duong area to be started, and up to now, site clearance work has been basically completed. The total value of the contract package is 3,520 billion VND and will be constructed within 3 years.

The project's supervision consultant is the consulting company MI-VJEC. The investor of the BOT project is VIDIFI.,JSC.

The Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway project is designed according to international standards as a type A expressway with a length of 105km, starting point at beltway 3 (Hanoi) and ending point at Dinh Vu port (Hai Phong). The route runs through 4 provinces and cities including: Hanoi, Hung Yen, Hai Duong and Hai Phong. When completed and put into use, the project will create conditions for socio-economic development for localities located in the key northern economic triangle, meeting the policy of modernizing the Hanoi - Hai Phong arterial traffic route, contributing to reducing traffic overload and minimizing traffic accidents that are on the rise on National Highway 5 today.
