About to open 20km of the 6-lane Hanoi - Hai Phong highway
The 105.5 km long Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway has been urgently being completed. The first 20km section of this 6-lane highway is expected to open to traffic in May.
According to the representative of the investor of the Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway Project, Vietnam Infrastructure Development and Financial Investment Corporation (VIDIFI), the route opened to traffic in May has a length of 22.7 km, from the intersection of National Highway 10 to the intersection with Pham Van Dong Street (Provincial Road 353) in Hai Phong City (Km 74+000 to Km 96+700).

When participating in traffic on the Hanoi - Hai Phong highway, the maximum speed is 120km/h and the minimum speed is 60km/h. The safe distance between vehicles is at least 90m corresponding to a speed of 100 - 120km/h; 70m corresponds to a speed of 80 - 100km/h; 50m corresponds to a speed of 60 - 80km/h.
Fees:
Cars with less than 12 seats, trucks with a load of less than 2 tons; Public transport buses are 35,000 VND/trip.
Cars from 12 - 30 seats; Trucks with a load of 2 tons to less than 4 tons have a fee of 45,000 VND/turn.
Vehicles with 31 seats or more; Trucks with a load of 4 to less than 10 tons are 60,000 VND/turn.
Trucks with payload from 10 to under 18 tons; 20fit container truck is 90,000 VND/turn.
Trucks with a load capacity of 18 tons or more; 40fit container trucks have a fee of 180,000 VND/turn.
The toll rate during the operation phase from Q L10 intersection to the intersection with Pham Van Dong street and vice versa is 1,500 VND/km for standard vehicles. Means of toll payment at Km 95+800 toll station in Hoa Nghia ward, Duong Kinh district, Hai Phong city.
According to VIDIFI, when putting the section from the intersection of National Highway 10 to the intersection with Pham Van Dong street in Hai Phong city into operation, the operator will coordinate with the Traffic Police Department (C67) - Ministry of Public Security, and related units to organize checks on vehicle load and speed of vehicles when participating in traffic on the highway with mobile load weighing stations arranged on the route to improve the effectiveness of vehicle load control, while preventing the phenomenon of vehicle loading. The project uses Asphalt Polymer mats and a rough layer on the surface to ensure safety for vehicles running at a speed of 120km/h. This is a new technology applied throughout the expressway.
