11/05/2009

On May 9, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee - Nguyen Van Khoi had a working session with VIDIFI on accelerating site clearance work for the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway project. According to the report of VIDIFI General Director Dao Van Chien, the Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway project passing through Gia Lam district has a length of 5.6km with a total area of recovery in phase 1 of 56ha (of which 1.9ha of residential land; 54.1ha of agricultural land). Currently, Gia Lam district has handed over to the contractor 18.1 hectares of agricultural land of 500 households in Da Ton and Dong Du communes. Compensation and site clearance support work is still being actively carried out so that it can be completely handed over to the investor in September. However, during the implementation process, the locality has encountered some difficulties, especially the work of arranging resettlement and moving cemeteries...

VIDIFI proposed that the city consider and agree to allow the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway to go under Ring Road 3 at the intersection to ensure the beauty of the area, facilitate traffic and save investment costs... Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Khoi agreed with this proposal.

To speed up the project progress, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee assigned Gia Lam district to hand over the remaining area of the project to the investor by October 2009. The Vice Chairman requested the district to focus on implementing well, ensuring resettlement conditions for households, and quickly handing over to VIDIFI, the construction contractor. VIDIFI side directs construction contractors to ensure traffic and environmental safety, without affecting people's lives and production.
