Solving difficulties in clearance of Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway
On the morning of August 7, Minister Dinh La Thang chaired a meeting to remove obstacles in site clearance work and speed up the construction progress of the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway. Attending were Deputy Minister Truong Tan Vien and leaders of localities passing through the route with investor Vidifi.
According to Mr. Dao Van Chien - Chairman of Vidifi, currently the site clearance work on this key expressway has achieved more than 99%. However, the remaining small percentage is still facing problems that have lasted for many years, also significantly affecting the contractor's construction work. In particular, Long Bien district (Hanoi) has 8 residential land households and some technical infrastructure systems that cannot be moved. Gia Lam district is similar, even some households in the Fruit and Vegetable Institute area still obstruct construction.
There are still many problems in Hung Yen, especially 18,000 square meters of agricultural land in Khoai Chau district and some petroleum pipeline systems in An Thi district. In Hai Duong, there are also many problems in Binh Giang, Tu Ky, Thanh Ha districts, and Gia Loc town. For Hai Phong, the most difficult problem is that 3,500 square meters of 12 households in Hai Thanh ward have not been cleared.

At the meeting, almost all localities including Hanoi, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Hai Phong pledged to make efforts to hand over a number of points in August 2013 and at the latest by the end of September 2013 to completely handle the problem.

Affirming that Hanoi - Hai Phong is a key national expressway, but is about 2 years behind schedule, Minister Dinh La Thang requested that localities need to focus on completely resolving the remaining problems. "The localities have promised many times, but have never delivered on time. Hopefully this will be the last promise and will complete the site clearance work in September 2013 so that contractors can focus on construction and soon put the route into operation" - noted the Minister.
