General Director inspected the scene on National Highway 5, directed to promote traffic safety work during the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo

On the morning of January 21, 2026, the working delegation of the Vietnam Infrastructure Development and Financial Investment Corporation (VIDIFI) led by General Director Tran Anh Tu conducted a field inspection of the management, operation and maintenance work on National Highway 5. The working trip aimed to review the current state of infrastructure, direct traffic connection plans and urge traffic safety to serve the people during the Lunar New Year. Lunar New Year and Spring Festival 2026.
Joining the working group was Mr. Pham Quang Huy - Member of the Board of Directors; Mr. Pham Thai Son - Deputy General Director; Mr. Vu Huu Thanh - Advisor to the Board of General Directors; together with leaders of the Office of the Board of Directors and specialized units: National Highway 5 Maintenance & Operation Management Board (National Highway 5 Maintenance & Operation Management Board), National Highway 5 Repair Project Management Board (National Highway 5 Project Management Board), Investment Planning Department and National Highway 5 Maintenance & Operation Management Enterprise.

During the field trip, the Working Group focused on inspecting key areas with high traffic density and important construction items, including: The area connecting Ring Road 4 with National Highway 5 (the section in front of Toll Station No. 01). Current status of Overpass No. 4 ( route Km28+753) and Overpass No. 5 ( route Km32+008). Survey the planned locations of rest stops and service stations along the route. Check regular maintenance and road surface repairs to ensure traffic safety.

After directly inspecting and listening to reports from units, General Director Tran Anh Tu gave specific, strategic directions for the management and operation of National Highway 5 in the coming time.
For the National Road 5 Traffic Management and Economic Board, the General Director requested the unit to research in depth the connection plan between Ring Road 4 and neighboring roads with National Highway 5. On that basis, propose measures to divide lanes, scientific traffic flow and the most optimal plan to organize toll collection at Toll Station No. 01, ensuring absolute safety and convenience for vehicles.
In addition, the General Director directed to urgently study planning along both sides of the route to prepare a project to build service stations and rest stops. The goal is to effectively exploit the land fund, improve amenities for traffic participants and submit it to competent authorities for approval as soon as possible.

For the SC QL5 Project Management Board, the Corporation's leaders requested to closely follow and coordinate with the Vietnam Road Administration to soon complete procedures and receive approval to implement the project to expand Overpass No. 4 and No. 5, in order to resolve traffic congestion on the route.
Emphasizing the importance of serving the increased travel needs of people during the Lunar New Year and the 2026 Spring Festival season, General Director Tran Anh Tu directed the National Highway 5 Management and Economic Board and the Enterprise to be highly focused and increase regular maintenance work.
Units need to speed up the progress of repair items on the route, ensure smooth road surfaces, clear signage and road marking systems, and prepare emergency plans to ensure smooth and safe traffic for people to enjoy Spring and welcome Tet.
