Deputy Minister Truong said that according to the assessment of the State Acceptance Council, the 22.7km Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway is eligible for temporary operation with a design speed of 120km/h.

Therefore, on the morning of May 27, the first section of this expressway will officially be put into operation and toll collection will begin.

The road toll collected during the temporary operation period is 1,500 VND/km for standard vehicles, the form of application is single-trip toll collection.

Accordingly, when put into operation, the toll for this 22.7 km road section is collected at the highest rate of 180,000 VND/turn, the lowest is 35,000 VND/turn.

Although it was put into operation from May 27, the investor, Vietnam Infrastructure Development and Financial Investment Corporation (VIDIFI), will waive the fee for traffic participants from now until the end of May.

Fee collection will start from 0:00 on June 1, 2015.

When put into operation, the safe distance between vehicles on the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway is at least 90m corresponding to a speed of 100 km/h - 120 km/h; 70m corresponds to a speed of 80 km/h - 100 km/h; 50m corresponds to a speed of 60 km/h - 80 km/h.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Hong Truong issued an order to put into temporary operation the 22.7km Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway on the morning of May 27.

The route opened to traffic in May has a length of 22.7 km, from the intersection of National Highway 10 to the intersection with Pham Van Dong Street (Provincial Road 353) in Hai Phong City (Km 74+000 to Km 96+700).

The highest fee is 180,000 VND/trip.
