Construction of the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway: Rushing into the sprint phase
06/09/2011
During these days, on the construction site of the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway passing through Hai Phong city, all 4 bidding packages from EX7 to EX 10 were simultaneously deployed. Contractors are focusing heavily on facilities as well as human resources for construction.
Speed up construction progress
Being present at the construction site of package EX 7 while workers and technical staff were focusing on their work, we could see the urgent atmosphere of the construction unit. Convoys of vehicles carrying soil and rocks continuously came in and out, the sound of engines bustling under the hot sun. Representative of GS Group (Korea) - the construction unit, said that all are making their best efforts to complete according to the schedule committed to the investor. Among the 4 bidding packages that have started construction, the EX 7 bidding package is considered to be the fastest. This package connects from Hai Duong to An Lao district with 9.3km and builds 2 river crossing bridges: Thanh An bridge, Will bridge and Road 10 overpass, mainly constructed in An Lao district. Up to this point, the local quick site clearance has contributed to helping contractors speed up progress.

The residential road system is 59.41 km long. According to Vietnam Infrastructure Development and Financial Investment Corporation (Vidifi) - the investor, currently bidding packages in Hai Phong city are actively constructing river and road overpass systems because this is the longest construction process, requiring precision when connecting to the path as well as connecting across the entire route.
Along with package EX7, package 8 and 9 by contractor Son Dong (China) is focusing maximum resources on construction, in which the number 1 priority of this contractor is 2 large bridges crossing Da Do river and crossing road 354. Package EX10 by contractor NamKuang (Korea) is also actively being deployed in areas that have been handed over, including bridge over Lach Tray river and bridge over road 353 (Pham Van). Bronze).
Mr. Vu Van Loi, Deputy Head of Vidifi Hai Phong Office, said that construction of the bridge system usually takes the longest time on the entire route, therefore, Vidifi directs construction units to focus all their efforts on constructing the bridge because it is the "backbone" of the entire route. Up to now, all bridge construction sites are implementing bridge abutment construction. When the bridge is completed, it also means that the road will be completed in a short time. Mr. Loi added that, according to the Government's direction, the technical opening time was set for 2013, put into operation in 2014 and there was no time extension. Therefore, it can be considered that this time is entering the sprint phase to complete the route according to the plan set out by the Government.
Put effort into site clearance
This is an important route of the country and the shortest route connecting the capital Hanoi with the seaport system of Hai Phong area. Therefore, this route not only connects provinces and cities but is also an opportunity for Hai Phong to develop economically, in which priority will be given to developing the marine economy, towards the goal of "being strong in the sea, getting rich from the sea". Not only construction contractors but also relevant localities are putting effort into clearing the site and creating conditions for construction contractors.
According to Vidifi's assessment, Hai Phong city is highly focused and strongly directing site clearance in all localities. Phase 1 of site clearance has been basically completed, phase 2 is 3/4 complete. Among the localities involved in site clearance, An Lao district emerged as the locality that excelled in this work. Mr. Vu Van Loi said that up to now, An Lao district only has a few households left in the area where the bridge over Road 10 was built. The district compensation council is also actively working, striving to be ahead of the city's plan assigned on September 30, 2011.
The Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway is 105.5 km long, a route with type A expressway technical standards, with a design speed of 120 km/h. The entire route has 31 large bridges, 9 river crossing bridges, 22 intersection overpasses, 21 medium/1km long bridges each and 124 residential underpasses.
Currently, Vidifi Hai Phong office is working with An Lao, Kien Thuy, Duong Kinh and Hai An districts to focus all their efforts on site clearance phase 2. Along with that, the relocation of a number of underground construction items such as water supply and drainage, telecommunications and power line systems are being implemented by related industries. All priority is given to the construction of the arterial road connecting the capital Hanoi with the port city of Hai Phong.
The Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway route was completed and put into use, making an important contribution to promoting the socio-economic development of the port city, especially service industries, seaport services, waterway traffic and goods circulation distribution. The lives of city residents have the opportunity to improve. For the development of the city, each family involved in the project should join hands with the local government to perform site clearance work well and support the construction contractor. This is a practical work that contributes to completing the route on schedule, which the Government is determined to do.
